PDF to JPG
Turn the pages of a PDF into JPG images you can share, post online or add to a document. Convert every page or just the ones you need, at screen or print quality.
Your files are processed in your browser and never leave your device.
How to use PDF to JPG
- Click "Select PDF file", or drag a PDF into the box. A small preview of the first page appears.
- Choose "All pages", or "Choose pages" and type the pages you want, for example 1-3, 5.
- Pick the image quality: Normal (150 DPI) for screens, or High (300 DPI) for printing.
- Click "Convert to JPG", then download your image, or a ZIP file if you converted several pages.
How to save one page of a PDF as an image
Choose "Choose pages" and type just that page number, for example 4. You get a single JPG file rather than a ZIP, named after your PDF and the page, such as report-page-4.jpg.
How to convert a PDF to JPG on your phone
PDF to JPG works in the browser on iPhone, iPad and Android, with nothing to install.
- Open this page in Safari, Chrome or your usual browser.
- Tap "Select PDF file" and pick the PDF from your Files app or downloads. If the PDF is an email attachment, save it to your phone first.
- Choose the pages and the quality, then tap "Convert to JPG".
- Tap "Download". To put an image in your photo gallery, open it and use your phone's Share or Save option.
What if the images are blurry or too large?
The two image quality settings trade sharpness against file size. Pick the one that suits what you will do with the images.
- Small text looks blurry: choose High · 300 DPI. Normal · 150 DPI is sharp on screens; High is better for printing and zooming in.
- The images are too big for an upload: use Normal, or shrink each image to the size the form asks for with Compress image.
- You only need some pages: choose "Choose pages" and type them, for example 1, 3-4.
- The PDF is password-protected: remove the password with Unlock PDF first.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. PDFHive draws your PDF pages as images inside your web browser, on your own computer or phone. The file is never sent to us or anyone else.
Is PDF to JPG free?
Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermark on your images.
Which image quality should I choose?
Normal (150 DPI) looks sharp on screens and keeps files small, which suits sharing and websites. High (300 DPI) is best for printing: an A4 page becomes an image of about 2480 × 3508 pixels, and files are around four times bigger.
Can I convert only some pages?
Yes. Choose "Choose pages" and type page numbers or ranges separated by commas, for example 1-3, 5, 8-. "8-" means page 8 to the last page.
Why did I get a ZIP file?
When you convert more than one page, the images are packed into one ZIP file so you only need a single download. On Windows and Mac, double-click it to open. On iPhone and iPad, tap it in the Files app. On Android, open it in your Files app and choose Extract.
Can I still select or copy the text in the JPG?
No. A JPG is a picture of the page, so the text becomes part of the image. If you need to copy text, keep the original PDF as well.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Not while they are protected. Files that need a password to open, or that block editing, cannot be converted. If you know the password, or the document is yours and only blocks editing, remove the protection with Unlock PDF first, then use the unlocked copy. Open Unlock PDF
Are there any limits on page size or number of pages?
There is no fixed limit, but every page is drawn on your device, so long PDFs take a little while and use more memory on phones. Very large pages, such as posters at High quality, are made slightly smaller so they work on every device, and the tool tells you when this happens.
