Delete PDF pages

Remove blank pages, adverts, old versions or anything else you don't need from a PDF. See every page, tap the ones to delete (or type their numbers), and download a new PDF with only the pages you want. Everything else in the document stays exactly as it was.

Your files are processed in your browser and never leave your device.

How to use Delete PDF pages

  1. Click "Select PDF file" and choose your PDF.
  2. Tap each page you want to remove, so it shows "Delete". Or type the page numbers, like 2, 5-7.
  3. Check the summary: how many pages will be deleted and how many will remain.
  4. Click "Delete pages" and download your new PDF.

How to remove a page from a PDF

Select your PDF and you'll see a small picture of every page. Tap the page you want to remove: it fades and shows a red "Delete" tag. Tap it again if you change your mind. When you're happy, click "Delete pages" and download the result.

Your original file isn't changed. PDFHive saves a new copy with "-pages-deleted" added to the name, so you can always go back to the original.

How to delete many pages at once

In long documents, typing is quicker than tapping. In the "Pages to delete" box, type single pages and ranges separated by commas, such as 1, 3, 10-40. A range ending in a dash, like 80-, means "from page 80 to the end". The pages you type are marked in the preview, so you can check them before deleting.

What if you can't delete the pages you want?

A few situations stop the tool from deleting pages. Here is what each one means.

  1. "Page 12 doesn't exist": the PDF has fewer pages than you typed. The page count is shown next to the file name.
  2. The "Delete pages" button stays grey: you have chosen every page. A PDF needs at least one page, so keep one, or use Split PDF to pull out the pages you want instead.
  3. The PDF is password-protected or blocks editing: remove the protection with Unlock PDF first.
  4. You removed the wrong page: your original file is unchanged. Choose "Change selection" before downloading, or start again from the original.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The pages are removed inside your web browser, on your own computer or phone. Your PDF is never sent to us or anyone else.

Is Delete PDF pages free?

Yes. It is free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of PDFs or pages.

Will the rest of my PDF change?

No. The pages you keep are not redrawn, so their text, images, links and form fields stay exactly as they were, and you can still select and search the text. The file usually gets smaller, because the deleted pages' images and text are really removed, not just hidden.

Can I undo deleting a page?

Your original PDF is never changed: the tool saves a new copy. Before you download, "Change selection" takes you back to your pages. After downloading, just start again from the original file.

Can I delete PDF pages on my phone?

Yes. It works in Safari and Chrome on iPhone and Android. Tap the pages to remove, and the new PDF is saved to your Downloads or Files app.

What happens to bookmarks and links to deleted pages?

Bookmarks and links that pointed to a deleted page stay in place but no longer go anywhere. Form fields that were only on deleted pages are removed with them. Everything that points to pages you keep still works.

Why can't I delete every page?

A PDF must have at least one page, so the tool always keeps at least one. If you'd rather choose the pages to keep, use Split PDF to extract them into a new file. Open Split PDF

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

Not while they are protected. PDFs that need a password to open, or that are locked against editing, can't be changed here. If you know the password, or the document is yours and only blocks editing, remove the protection with Unlock PDF first, then use the unlocked copy. Open Unlock PDF
